Most jobless finding work, rate sinks to 4%
INLAND EMPIRE ?(INT) ?Most people looking for work in the 2-county region found it during 2018. The year ended with solid job gains and an unemployment rate of 4 percent.

The State Employment Development Department reported Friday that the Inland Empire gained 29,200 jobs during the year.

Government registered the largest year-over increase with local government leading the way.

Five other sectors experienced a rise in employment over the year with trade, transportation, and utilities, educational and health services and leisure and hospitality experiencing healthy gains.

Construction lost the most jobs during the year, an estimated 1,300.

Rancho Cucamonga had the regionís lowest jobless rate among the large cities at 2.9 percent. That compares to San Bernardino (4.7%), Riverside (3.6%) and Moreno Valley (4.2%).
